por que no usas

getasynckeystate(by val vkey)as long

y  segun la condicion 

for a=1 to 256
if   getasynckeystate(a)<> 0 then

tecla=chr(a)

end if

pruebalo
con esa funcion basica he hehco un keyloger que funciona bien
